New Opportunity With Youth

HANDS ON AUTO BODY SHOP

I was recently approached by Rick Langlais and asked if I would like to be a part of the second car the Hands On Auto Body Shop builds. Rick said I would be able to bring out two youth a week to the program, where they would be instructed by Saskatchewan Polytechnic instructors and guys from local automotive shops, how to fix up a 1969 Mustang Convertible. I loved being part of the first project, a 1970 Chevy Nova (see below), in my years working at Hands On and after talking it over with Kim jumped on the opportunity.

The 1st Project Car

I believe wholeheartedly that this project can be a life changer for our youth as they taught new skills by caring instructors and learn that they are talented, valued and can accomplish something awesome like building a hotrod.

We are two weeks into the project and as you can see by the pictures above, the youth are having a blast. We work on the car Thursday nights from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm and there is nobody complaining about it being too long or difficult. If anything, we have to pry them away from their work as they love being there so much.

Please pray that by God’s power lives are changed and positive relationships built through this opportunity! I will be sure to keep you updated on the progress of the car as we get more done.
