Blessed Insurance!

Stable Haven is a ground breaking program, it’s the only YFC ministry in Canada using equine therapy as a way to bring HOPE to kids.  Equine therapy has been very successful in helping people walk through personal trauma and improve mental health.  Maxine Harder is leading this innovative ministry, and she has recently become certified in EAL (Equine Assisted Learning).  With this certification, Maxine is now able to bring students through various exercises with the horses, overcoming challenges and obstacles, and learning valuable skills along the way.  The beautiful part of Stable Haven is the opportunity Maxine has to point these students to Jesus as they tackle these personal challenges together.

However, this innovative ministry has had it’s own share of hurdles.  For the past year YFC has been trying unsuccessfully to secure the insurance needed to operate.  This has been a huge discouragement, as Stable Haven can’t officially start until the insurance is in place.  After so many closed doors, we were beginning to wonder if Stable Haven will ever be a reality.

But two weeks ago we got news that changed everything!

HERE IS MAXINE’S STORY

I am so excited to tell you that WE ARE IN FINAL STAGES OF FINALIZING THE INSURANCE!   God has answered our prayers! This means that very shortly Stable Haven will be fully operating!  Praise God for this huge breakthrough!

The cost for the INSURANCE policy will be approximately $1200/year. Use the donation form below to help us!

I will also need to buy a few more helmets.  If you are able to help me out in this way, please contact me.

Starting a new ministry is not for the faint of heart.  Through the ups and downs of pursuing insurance, and then getting stepped on by a horse, I became discouraged.  For the first time, I began to wonder: what if it doesn’t work?  One of my colleagues identified that God is taking me through a desert and it is a time of refining my character.  I had to come face to face with this question:  will I persevere through it, or will I give up?  This reality check snapped me out of feeling sorry for myself and caused me to realign myself with God.

Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we reap a harvest if we do not give up.
— Galatians 6:9

God is continually putting things in motion and affirming that the ministry of STABLE HAVEN is His will.  There are more obstacles ahead, but I am ready to reap this harvest now that I have the go-ahead from insurance to begin.
