PROJECT SERVE is the annual mission trip ministry of Youth for Christ®. Project Serve trips are open to young people and high school students, ages 15-19. We take seriously the command of Jesus to love our neighbours and to serve the world. We also hold tight to James 1:27 which says: “Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress…”

With its sixty-one years of youth ministry experience, 24 local chapters across Canada, and its network of indigenous ministries in more than 100 countries of the world, Youth for Christ® is uniquely positioned to provide an outstanding missions experience for those students wanting to serve. This is Saskatoon Youth For Christ’s 13 year anniversary with Project Serve ministry. In February of 2020 we’ll have a team traveling to Los Angeles, CA to serve at Union Rescue Mission on Skid Row.

Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you.
— James 1:27

In the early 1940’s, there was a multitude of large church rallies taking place in over 200 different cities across the United States. In 1944, the challenge was given to bring these ministries together under one movement and Youth for Christ® was formed. Billy Graham was hired as the first full-time employee. God moved the founders of YFC® with a vision for the world, and Youth for Christ® set out to reach the world’s young people with the reckless love of Jesus Christ.

Today, YFC® is in 80 chartered nations and nearly 40 pioneer and target nations. We have divided the world into four ministry areas: The Americas/Caribbean, Europe, Africa, and Asia Pacific. Within this framework, YFC® works with nearly 6 million young people each year!  Click Here to read more about YFC's history.

  1. We go to serve! Our teams are partnered with nationals, godly men and women who live and work in Los Angeles. We strategically partner with a local homeless shelter serving them any way we can.

  2. Spiritual development is paramount. We provide pre-field, on-field and post-field Bible study materials as well as individual and group times geared to strengthen our team members' relationship with Jesus.

  3. Our trip leaders are youth ministry professionals with a passion for and experience in, both youth ministry and global missions.

Project Serve is an experience which teaches you the value of humbling yourself in order to serve others. You come to realize that there is great satisfaction and contentment that comes out of doing something meaningful for someone else.
