Where I Am
New seasons create new challenges, new challenges create new opportunity. I have begun my internship here at Saskatoon Youth For Christ (YFC). The internship is eight months long, beginning in September and ending in April. The majority of my time will be spend here at Saskatoon Youth For Christ; the rest of my time will be spent at Lakeview Church.
The main focus of my internship is working with the Youth For Christ Hockey League (YFCHL). YFCHL exists to share the love of God through the experience of hockey, teamwork and positive adult mentorship in a safe community. YFCHL is a low resource community hockey league. YFCHL is a family. Providing young people with opportunities and skills to help them not only succeed in sport but in life.
I am extremely excited to see how God will use me this year through my internship. Yet, the prospect of raising my own funds is intimidating. I believe that God has brought me to this place and I trust that the Lord will provide. He hasn’t failed me yet, so I have faith that it will continue.
During my internship someone has graciously provided me with $500 a month. On top of that, Lakeview is paying me around $500 a month to be in-charge of their Junior High youth program. I’m extremely grateful for this but it’s difficult to live solely on that as it equals to $6.25/ hour. Great things are happening here in Saskatoon. Many lives are being impacted and changed. If you’d like to be apart of this I’d love for you join with me!
