Sometimes you have to take opportunities that seem scary, inconvenient and crazy. This is what i did this past month by booking a quick trip to the Philippines. I had never done anything like this before but I couldn’t pass up an once in a lifetime opportunity like this. So myself and my buddy booked tickets to fly to Manilla and 23 days later we left for an insane adventure. We flew in Tokyo for a 14 hour layover and immediately hoped on the train and headed downtown Tokyo for the most amazing sushi and Ramen I had ever had. Then through a series of events we got lost downtown and locked out of the train station we made it back to the airport for a quick sleep and our next flight.
Once in the Philippines we travelled to two main areas El Nido and Coron. We spent about 5 days in each location. We were able to explore the islands, meet some incredible people, eat some decent food, get sun burnt and experience the local culture. A few of my highlights from the trip were climbing a mountain in Coron, biking around the island on a dirt bike, and manning up and trying Balut.
During the trip I had a few opportunities to have some really deep heart to heart conversations with different people, and hear their stories and even pour some affirmation and truth back onto them. I was praying before and during the trip that God would give me some direction about what and where I should go next in life, I didn't get a clear sense of that, but I did feel He was using me during some of the conversations I had with the people I met on this trip. I am so thankful to God for the opportunity to experience the things I did.
