The last week of July is one of my favourite weeks of the year because it means it is time for hockey camp in Caronport. This was my third summer being involved in the camp and every summer my role increases more and more. This year I was the coach for team of 13-15 year olds, I was in charge of leading the chapel sessions, lead a mini gymblast on the opening night and even had the chance to speak at one of the chapels. I had a lot on my plate that week but was encouraged by how things went. I was able to share my story in the opening chapel and of all the times I have ever spoke I felt this one went the best. I got a lot of encouraging feedback from fellow staff. One of staff that had been involved with the camp for 30+ years told me "it was one of the best chapel presentations he had ever heard." That meant so much to me and got me thinking that maybe I am not as bad at this speaking thing as I think. All in all in was a fantastic week full of hockey, dry land training, laughs and good talks. It is always encouraging seeing young men contemplate the things of God and go deeper in their faith.
