What terrific summer for my family and I. After a very busy year in my new role as Executive Director, I was very ready for a break. Being able to take holidays was a real gift from the Lord. I got some much needed rest and was able to get a lot of work done on our acreage, which was great too! This summer our family stayed pretty close to home. We went camping twice, a few days in Biggar (for Piano camp, not usually my first choice haha), then to Cypress Hills.
Mixed in with the holidays I led the youth program at Camp Oshkidee again and also served at Hockey Ministries International Hockey camp. Both were great experiences.
One of the things I love about God is that He never stops working. There are times when it seems like he is not around or doing Kingdom work, but He is, He always is. One of the books I have been reading is called Mission Drift, which is about ministries who either stay focused on Christ as a mission or lose their identity as a Christian organization. What a fascinating read. I come away from reading this book more focused on Jesus than ever before. We at YFC need to keep Him at the centre of all we do. I look forward to what God has in store for us this ministry season at YFC.
