EVERETT OLFERT IS PART OF PROJECT SERVE BELIZE 2018!
Dear Friends and Family,
This past summer I worked at a bible camp and I felt God challenging me to go serve Him in different ways. I am very excited to tell you about the first of many ways I hope to serve God. I have a great opportunity for me to be on a mission team and go on a mission trip. On the February break of 2018, eleven other youth (grades 10-12) and I, from the Saskatoon area will be going down to Belmopan, Belize for twelve days as part of something called Project Serve.
While we are in Belize, we will be working on a construction project for the King’s Children’s Home. The King’s Children’s Home is an orphanage that we are partners with. Currently in the home there are 65+ children, and we will be helping to develop the land where they live. We will also be fortunate enough to hang out and spend time playing with the kids, and providing for them as much love as possible while we are there.
The trip that I will be going on, will need as much support as possible from the community. I would like to invite you to be part of this trip with me through prayer and encouragement and/or financial aid. Prayer is one of the most important aspects of this trip for our team and for me as an individual. I would greatly appreciate it if you would pray for my team and myself, before, during, and after the mission has taken place.
Financially for this trip I am trying to raise a total of $2800: I need to try and raise $1200 by the middle of December and the remaining amount by February 1st. Any donation, whether it is $5 or $500, is greatly appreciated and all the money goes directly towards the expense of our mission. If we raise above our team goal, we will simply put the money towards the expense of our mission: basically, the more we raise the more we can help (i.e. buying paint for the house when it’s not originally in our budget).
You can donate easily and safely online through the YFC website by clicking on the Donate Now button below. Donating online greatly reduces administration time and money, and you will instantly get your tax receipt. If you would prefer to write a cheque you can make it out to Youth for Christ and mail it to 1338 Ave B North Saskatoon, SK S7L 1G5. You will then receive your tax-deductible receipt at the end of the year.
Thank you for becoming a part of this amazing opportunity with me. I hope to learn and grow in many ways from this experience with the people of Belize and the work I do when I’m there. If you have any questions about the mission please call me at (306) 321-4356.
