To Love is to Serve

PROJECT SERVE (PS) remains one of YFC's most important initiatives.  Investing and pouring into young leaders is what I have been called to, and PS is a perfect conduit for that to happen.  Not only does PS expose students to a different country and culture, but it opens their eyes to the realities of human suffering, and provides a window into the role the global church plays in social justice and restoration.  As we served widows and orphans, we experienced Jesus in a new and fresh way.

This past February we took 11 students to Belize and continued our partnership with YWAM Belize and the King's Children's Home (KCH).   The house is striving to become more self-sustaining, and we have been part of various infrastructure projects over the years.  This year our main job was the pouring of a concrete floor for the new schoolhouse/chapel.  We also helped spread rocks and gravel to create a road for easier access to the back part of the property.  The team worked incredibly well together, it was an amazing thing to watch.  We all developed deep relationships with the kids at the home, and it was difficult for our students to say goodbye.  We felt incredibly blessed to be part of the ongoing legacy of teams who have been involved with this life changing project.

Please pray for our students as they get back to their normal schedules and routines.  Pray that the things God taught them in Belize would continue to resonate as they are back home.
