Chris Unger was born and raised in Eaglescliffe, Teesside, in the North-East of England. She has an older sister who still lives in Eaglescliffe, and an older brother who lives with his wife and son in Northern Ireland. She attended Egglescliffe Comprehensive School, and trained at Darlington College of Technology for the catering industry, which she soon realized would not be the career for her. She then went on to do a one year voluntary course through British Youth For Christ, where she met Lindsay, her husband. After serving at a church in Norwich, in the south of England, for 2 years she returned home where she got a job working as a clerical assistant for North Yorkshire County Council.  Lindsay and Chris married in England in June 2003, and moved to Saskatoon, to be closer to Lindsay's family, in July 2003.

Chris has managed to get the ideal job for her! She is assistant to the Executive Director, and looks after the human resources side of the ministry, as well as sharing administrative duties with Nicole. Thus combining her passion for youth, YFC and clerical work. She loves singing, and performed with her school choir and county choir in the National Music For Youth Festival in London, at the Royal Festival Hall. Reading is one of her passions, she enjoys a wide variety of authors which includes Francine Rivers, Terry Pratchett and Anya Seton. Playing games is another favourite pastime, Dutch Blitz, Monopoly, Full House and Skip-Bo are firm favourites.

She and Lindsay are currently youth sponsors at their church's Senior High youth group. Chris misses the 'hilliness' of Teesside, the pier at Saltburn and Whitby Abbey, but is growing to appreciate the beauty of the Canadian prairies, and is looking forward to exploring the rest of the country.
